Hello - My name is David Bear -I have been surfing for over 65 years - Bear’s Surf Shop began in 1959, built around a love of surfing and the beach. We built the original BEAR Surfboards and Skateboards - I owned the original shop until 1978, when I moved on to a 33-year career in the fire department, retiring as a Captain.

Today, I’m bringing those two parts of my life together through surf inspired designs and firefighter shirts. Every design carries a little of the story behind Bear’s Surf Shop—and the people, boards, and beach days that started it all.
